Galatians 6:14a
"May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ"
If I were perfect and never missed the mark I would have no drive towards Christ. I would sense no need for a Savior, no desire to be "better", to try harder...or rather to stop trying and let God take over. So, in those moments, when I feel like giving up and retreating I look to Jesus and say, Thank You for taking the time to teach me this lesson. It is not "fun" to grow...it is painful and stretching and uncomfortable, but growth brings strength, maturity, endurance.
James 1:2-8
